IPEDS Fall Enrollment survey component information and glossary
IPEDS Fall enrollment is a measure of student access to higher education at traditional institutions. Data is submitted for all students enrolled in credit-bearing courses/programs which could potentially lead to awards ranging from postsecondary certificates of less than 1 year to doctoral degrees. Some of the data submitted to IPEDS and used for this dashboard include: Full- and part-time, race/ethnicity, gender and age of students.

Historically Minoritized
This category includes all races/ethnicities except White, Non-Resident, and Race/Ethnicity Unknown.
U.S. Non-Resident
A person who is not a citizen or national of the United States and who is in this country on a visa or temporary basis and does not have the right to remain indefinitely.
Full-time
Undergraduate: A student enrolled for 12 or more semester credits. Graduate: A student enrolled for 9 or more semester credits. Doctors degree - Professional practice: full-time as defined by the institution.
Part-time
Undergraduate: A student enrolled for less than 12 semester credits. Graduate: A student enrolled for less than 9 semester credits.
